Courtesy Listings

The pets listed on this page are looking for new homes. Because limited foster home space prevents ARFP from bringing all the dogs and cats looking for new homes into the program, we've started the Courtesy Listing page to give individuals looking for homes for pets a place to let the public learn about them.

The animals listed on this page are not in the ARFP foster program; for information about a pet listed here, please call or email the person listed as the contact for that pet.

Papa Bear

Papa Bear sits calmly in the yard while his picture is taken

Papa Bear was found abandoned at a park, tied to a picnic table with a belt. This extremely sweet Border Collie/Lab mix is friendly with all people, children, and animals. He loves attention and loves to play.

Papa Bear appears to be around 9-10 months old. He's very healthy and needs a loving home to begin his young life with.

Bella

Bessie lays down

This beautiful cat is VERY gentle! Bella loves affection and has asked for it by rolling on her back to have her tummy rubbed. She gets along well with the other cats in the room with her and has even been okay with the dog at her foster home. About 13 months old, she's a very calm girl and deserves to go to a loving home.

If you're interested in this sweet girl, please email jesse33461@bellsouth.net .

Rusty

Rusty hanging out in the living room

This sweet boy is about 12 months old and looks like a Shepherd or Lab mix. He's a very sweet dog in need of a good home! He was rescued from a shelter in October and adopted out to a family. Unfortunately, that family moved recently and didn't take Rusty with them. He's a wonderful dog, and did nothing wrong to make his family to return him.

Rusty is a playful puppy who appears to be easily trainable. He does pull on the leash when his foster parent walks him, but comes quickly back when called. He wants to be obedient, but needs to know what is expected of him.

Rusty is loving and friendly. He gets along well with other dogs. This young boy needs someone to love him. If you're interested in Rusty, please email jesse33461@bellsouth.net  .

Bessie

Bessie lays on the couch

This short hair tabby girl has been a loving family pet for eight years. But because of medical issues in the family, Bessie needs to find a new home.

Not only is Bessie great with children, but she's also litterbox trained; spayed; declawed; and up to date on all her vaccinations. She's just all around a very healthy girl. She is scared of dogs, though, so she'd prefer a canine-free home.

Although she's currently living in High Point, NC, Bessie is willing to travel to find her new family. She's been a wonderful pet for her current family for eight years, and promises to be a great companion for years to come for the next family to give her a place in their home and hearts.

If you're the wonderful family that's looking for this wonderful girl, email Christi.Warwick@stocksupply.com .

Ebony

Ebony, a short-haired black and white dog with mismatched eyes

My name is Ebony, and my birthday is 8/12/07. I have one blue eye and the other one is amber. I am a Border Collie. My rescue mom went to a shelter to pick up another dog and saw me sitting there waiting to be gassed. She asked if she could take me, and they said yes. I'm a Parvovirus survivor.

I'm very friendly and love kids and other dogs. A very large German Shepherd watches over me, and I like to play with other dogs. I'm learning to go potty outside. I'm good on a leash and like to ride in a car. I'm also crate trained.

If you're interested in me, contact Madeline at: 919-620-6896 or email her at:  matgar793@hotmail.com.

Precious

Precious, a long-haired black and white dog, sits in the yard and looks up at the camera

Precious has a congenital deformity or birth injury that has resulted in contracted tendons in her rear legs. The vet thinks that with good physical therapy, her right leg can become weight bearing.

Due to her situation, Precious does not 'walk' normally, but she is very agile, fast and athletic. She does 'zoomies' in the yard, plays with toys and other dogs, goes up and down stairs, comes when she's called, and is absolutely sweet! She's not in any discomfort and actually doesn't know that she's 'different' from other dogs.

Precious weighs about 20 pounds and is about 10-12 months old. She plays well with other animals and older children. We do NOT consider Precious a 'special needs' dog. She's just unique.

Precious being fostered in Durham, NC. For more information contact: matgar793@hotmail.com.

Molly

“Please save me.”  That seemed to be what Molly was saying when she was found running down the middle of a busy street.  Molly is approximately 5 years old, now spayed, negative for heartworms, and about as loyal as they come.  She loves long walks and will even jog by your side.  Molly is in Greensboro, NC and is waiting for her forever family to adopt her.  Could that be you?  E-mail Jennifer at jhart@dbcradio.com or call 336-854-5763 to meet Molly.

Roscoe

Roscoe Roscoe
Are you looking for the love of your life? Roscoe just might be your man!

This 50-pound fellow is a Bassett mix with a goofy head -- what a mix!!! He is affectionately called "Bobblehead" and is just a hoot to watch, especially when he is cutting laps around the yard!

Roscoe is extremely gentle with children and strangers, and likes other dogs. But no cats please; he will chase them.

Roscoe is crate- and house-trained, listens well, and walks great on a leash. He loves playing chase, or just laying around chewing on a rawhide or toy. He enjoys sitting in your lap and being scratched while he gives plenty of kisses; he's a very affectionate dog!!

Roscoe was born in May 2004, is neutered, and is up-to-date on shots. A fenced-in yard is required for his adoption. This guy loves to get his exercise running and chasing toys, another dog, or anyone who will play with him!!!

Contact Shari at (336) 886-7104 or sharisawyer@northstate.net to meet Roscoe.

Single Black Dog In Search Of Energetic Companion. If you enjoy running and playing in the back yard, taking long walks through the park, and cuddling on the couch, then I'm the dog for you! I am an athletic, 35 pound lab mix with tons of personality! I am very good natured and enjoy everybody! I am neutered and up-to-date on my shots and heartworm preventative. I sleep all night long in my crate, and I never have accidents in my crate. You can take me out in public because I am very well behaved. I do get bored at home when nobody pays attention to me, but I will let you know when this happens. I love to play with other dogs, but I really love playing with my foster mom more. Mom says I was born around February 2004. If you are interested in adopting me, then please contact my foster mom, Patricia, at (336)253-8528 or PWisn291@triad.rr.com. My adoption fee is $100 to cover my neuter and other medical costs.
