Katrina Pets Come to Greensboro

After a disaster like Hurricane Katrina, organizations like Noah's Wish and the individual rescue groups that work with them step in to rescue and care for animals affected by the devastation. The hope is always to reunite pets with their families. But in some cases, the families themselves have no home, no where to go, and cannot care for their pets. When that happens, groups like ARFP take in the surrendered pets, get them medical care, and eventually find them new, loving homes. The pets on this page were rescued in Louisiana and are now being cared for by ARFP.

You can help these animals by making a donation to ARFP for their medical care. Monetary donations can be mailed to:

SCOOTER

Scooter hails from Slidell, Louisiana. Call him an evacuee, a refugee, or displaced, but we call him a survivor. He was rescued during Hurricane Katrina and is now calling North Carolina home. This little guy is under 15 lbs. and has never met a stranger. He loves other dogs and is great with people. He is neutered, crate-trained, and sleeps all night. Scooter is approximately 1 and 1/2 yrs. old. We told him he is a Terrier mix and he seems ok with that label. Scooter's adoption fee is $150, and he requires a fenced yard.
