Adoption fairs are regular events where potential adopters can meet dogs and cats available for adoption through our program up close and personal — as well as talk with our hard working volunteers. It’s through adoption fairs that most of the pets in our program find their permanent homes.
ARFP is always looking for more hard-working volunteers who can assist with adoption fairs. You don’t even need to foster to help out! We need volunteers who can help open the NSAC for fairs, talk with visitors about the animals, and even screen potential adopters.
We also need people who can help hold dogs. Many of our canine foster parents have more than two dogs but, unfortunately, they only have two hands. Without volunteers to hold dogs for them, these foster parents would only be able to bring one dog to the fair — leaving the others at home where potential adopters can’t meet them.
If you’re not a dog person, don’t worry. We have a lot of cats and kittens who attend the adoption fairs and need someone to watch over them. They need people to tell the public how great each and every one of them is, too!
We also need dedicated people who can come to an adoption fair and greet the public and promote ARFP’s goals. Most importantly, we need people who like to hang out with other interesting, cool people and have a good time while helping animals! If any of this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, please let us know by submitting a volunteer interest form today or visiting the NSAC during our open hours!
